Visual Artist Maricela Figueroa Zamilpa has diversified her work as a creator in photography and the visual arts, with more than 100 photographic exhibitions held in her country (Mexico) and abroad, including the USA, Canada, and Europe.

Maricela Figueroa Zamilpa has developed a diverse body of work in photography and the visual arts, with exhibitions presented both in Mexico and internationally, including the United States, Germany, and Canada.

Her large-format photographic exhibitions have been shown in significant public and cultural spaces such as the Metro Cuatro Caminos station in Mexico City, Rejas Solares of Acapulco, Museo Soumaya at Plaza Carso, and Plaza Loreto in Mexico City.

She was selected as one of the four best Mexican photographers to participate in “La Ruta” (The Route), organized by Lo Hecho en México and Nikon México. Currently, her photographic practice focuses on the communities of Guerrero, Morelos, and Oaxaca, where she creates important visual records of the autochthonous coastal dances of Guerrero and Oaxaca.

In addition to photography, she is a textile artist who works with free embroidery and mixed media.
